From cupcake cars to robots, from CNC to steam powered scooters, the Bay Area Maker Faire is the premier event that bridges the gap between the general public and STEM education. Innovators are everywhere at the Maker Faire, and one booth after another is a feast for the engineer, scientist and artist in every person. There a lots of hands on workshops, exhibits, demonstrations and seminars that will satisfy the interests of anyone who appreciates fun and creativity. Teachers who are in the area should do their best to attend, with or without students. Bring someone who isn’t familiar with STEM education so they can see the way that only deeply committed Makers can. And bring ideas for you class room so that your students can exhibit at next year’s event. There are Maker Faire events expanding across the US and beyond.
